Ranbir Kapoor's next bulky bulk 'Barfee': Katrina Kaif’s alleged boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor may be a lean guy as of now. But better get a good look at him coz he is not going to stay the same. Ranbir shall soon get bulkier since he has decided to put on some extra pounds for his next film ‘Barfee’.

Earlier titled as ‘Silence’,  ‘Barfee’ shall feature Ranbir in a dumb and deaf character. However, it’s no emotional melodrama but a comic caper and Ranbir shall be honing his comic skills for this film.

Director Anurag Basu, being a die hard admirer of Charlie Chaplin, wanted Ranbir to take cues from his films and imitate his style. However, Ranbir came with an idea of his own. He suggested that he better sketch out his character in a Mr. Bean-like way coz the new generation would easily relate to him.

Anurag was mightily impressed with the idea and now Ranbir has been asked to put on some weight so that he looks more like his character. Hence, currently, Ranbir is sinking his teeth into fatty food and trying to gain some flab; something that comes so easily to Kapoor Khandan.

So, how will our Saawariya look in his plumper avatar? Any guesses?

I think he is the next generation super-star.” Both are to do a film together in ‘Short Term Shaadi.’

With all the Khans in her good books, the killer lady, surely, knows the tricks of the trade.

Salman wants to credit money into his account for attending 'Koffee With Karan': Salman Khan will be seen on Karan Johar's Koffee With Karan but it comes at a cost! No, he's not asked Karan to ditch his best friend and Salman's arch rival SRK but instead is charging a whopping 50 lakhs to come for his show.

An industry source told Mumbai Mirror, "Sometime back, Karan had asked Bhai (Salman) to come on the show. And Bhai told him that he was willing to come on the show if he was paid."

Karan pointed out to the Dabangg actor that none of the guests on the show were paid to which Salman said that he didn't want money for himself but for his charity, Being Human.

Buzz is that since the channel will not shell out that kind of money, Karan is willing to personally pay the actor to have him on the show.

No one knows if Salman Khan was serious or was he just pulling KJo's leg!

No one to pull the release date of Aamir Khan's 'Dhobi Ghat'?

No one to pull the release date of Aamir Khan's 'Dhobi Ghat'?: Aamir Khan has the power and he doesn't even make an effort to flaunt it. No wonder, with his decision to pull the release date of his next, Dhobi Ghat, from February to January (21st to be precise), he is getting a clear road ahead with no traffic whatsoever, what with Abhishek Bachchan starrer Game moving to a later date as well.

Says a veteran industry insider, "Game was earlier all set to release on 21st January. The date was announced months ago and with the film's principal shoot being through, there were plans lined up to cut the theatrical promo as well."

One was surprised though with the stance taken by Game to stick on to its original release plans. After all two other biggies had silently moved away from the same date with Vishal Bhardwaj's Saat Khoon Maaf and Madhur Bhandarkar's Dil To Baccha Hai Ji planning to arrive later on. However, as things stand today, the makers of Game have announced a new date,18th March, and in the process have steered clear of Aamir Khan's film (despite it being a low budget offbeat experimental cinema).

Ritesh Sidhwani, producer of Game along with Farhan Akhtar confirms, "Yes, we are not coming on 21st January anymore. It is 18th March for us." One also suspects if this was a goodwill gesture, given the fact that the producers are anyways working with Aamir Khan for their next outing (to be directed by Reema Kagti). After all it won't be fair to clash with the same actor at the box office with whom they have already begun collaboration.

Aamir Khan "No, that was not the case", Ritesh kills the speculation here, "We are not yet ready with our film and needed more time for post production. Since it looked difficult to get Game ready in February as well, we are now aiming for March."

This makes good business as well as commercial sense after all. There has been a heavy dose of films right through the last quarter of 2010. January doesn't look any better with half a dozen major films anyways planned for release. Moving ahead to March means that Game has a field wide open for it to enjoy all the perks that come along with a solo release as well as zilch competition.

Point to be noted though is that World Cup cricket would be in its full fervour during March. A 'game' like this in the middle of some intense game of cricket should indeed bring in all the thrills, both on the big as well as the small screen.

Rumors related to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have again started making the rounds. The rumors, this time, are related to her pregnancy not in India but in Dubai.
But rumors have become such a routine affair for Ash that she does not even clarify them. We presume that she chooses to laugh it off.
Ash had some interviews scheduled in Dubai, but they were canceled at the last moment leading to speculation among the small community of Indian journalists in the Middle East.
"Unless it is a case of dodgy Indian curries that is slowly but surely emanating, the rumor mills are grinding to grist the possibility of a classic Ash diva tantrum because she is pregnant," quoted the local newspaper in Dubai.
Sources had informed the newspaper that Ash was not well and hence had canceled the said interviews. This is not the first time that the buzz about her pregnancy has reached us.
Had we believed in all these gossips Ash and Abhishek should have had a few babies by now. We guess we should leave the couple alone and give them the benefit of doubt and the honour to make the announcement themselves.
After all, their marriage was the biggest ever in Bollywood and when the Bachchans will confirm any such news it would surely be the biggest one, too.

However, Mark's father, Corky Ballas does not seem to be a big fan of Bristol. "Everyone expected Jennifer to win," Corky Ballas, a retired professional ballroom dancer recently told to RadarOnline. "Comparing her (Bristol) to Jennifer Grey was like a Volkswagen to Rolls Royce."

Madonna opens gym in Mexico

Madonna has opened her first gym in Mexico.

The ‘Celebration’ hitmaker – well known for her intense workout regime and sporty physique – attended the opening of the Hard Candy Fitness center in Mexico City yesterday (29.11.10) and noted the name was an important part of the “sexy” brand.

She said: “It’s a sexy name that gives you the opportunity to have fun and to build strength as far as the imagination will allow.”

The 52-year-old singer added she was not skimping on price with the gyms, which will eventually be launched worldwide, and plans for them to be “first-class” fitness establishments.

She said: “If any of you have seen my shows, you know that I don’t skimp on them and the same is true for the gum. We spend what it takes to make a globally first-class gym.”

In addition to cutting the ribbon at the gym, Madonna also gave a dance class to 20 handpicked members to music from DJ Paul Oakenfold.

Discussing the decision to launch the gyms in Mexico, Madonna said in a statement last week she hoped the establishment could be “fine-tuned” before being rolled out worldwide.

She said: “Our plan is to use Mexico as a place to fine-tune our brand and then expand it to other countries and, in the long term, develop a global brand that includes the United States.”

First and foremost, I'm an epic fan of your work! The advice you give is extremely helpful. So, I was hoping that you could help me out with one particular struggle I have with applying makeup. I have a problem with mascara. My makeup looks hot when I leave the house but 2 hours later I get mascara smudges right below my eyebrows! I don’t know what to do. I have tried every single brand of mascara you can possibly think of! When I go to MAC or any counter they say to use a good primer and this and that and they sell it to me. I use it and still get the smudges. What do you recommend? Or am I stuck with my super long eyelashes and carrying my 224 brush everywhere I go?

Hi Amanda,

Thanks so much. The mascara smudges right below your brows are a result of oily eyelids. I’m sure there are a lot of women reading this and wishing they had your "issue," LOL.  As the day progresses, your eyelids begin to produce more oils and your lashes are smudging on the lid because oils break down and melt makeup. I say you stick with your preferred waterproof mascara and try applying a mattyfying cream to your T-zone and also to the area around the brows. I like Max Anti-Shine Mattifying Gel by Peter Thomas Roth.  Follow with a dab of oil-free concealer or foundation and then seal the deal with a translucent setting powder. Instead of using a brush to apply the powder, use a damp sponge and press it onto the skin. Sweep away the access powder with a clean blending brush. Try Luminous Translucent Loose Powder by Motives Cosmetics. This technique will help with creating a barrier between oily skin and mascara. If your skin and mascara are both dry to the touch, there will be no more mess!

Box Office Report: 'Break Ke Baad' going not well at cash windows

Box Office Report: 'Break Ke Baad' going not well at cash windows: Deepika Padukone and Imran Khan starrer ‘Break Ke Baad’ has failed to rake in big money at the box office after opening to a low occupancy rate.

Though it performed better at high end multiplexes like PVR Ambience Gurgaon with an occupancy rate of 40%, its occupancy was abysmally low at 15-20% in other multiplexes. Despite some heavy promotions and hype, the film literally disappointed.

Expectations were also high riding on the new pairing of chic Imran Khan and the sexy Deepika Padukone. Plus, a lot was being expected from Aamir Khan’s bhanja after he delivered a semi-hit with ‘I Hate Luv Storys’.

However, the opening day didn’t go as well. And after negative reviews from critics, it’s unlikely that it’s performance shall improve much over the week.

On the other hand, ‘Allah ke Banday’ failed to set up any momentum. Dark theme, lack of publicity and dearth of big stars spelled disaster for this film that could barely afford an occupancy of 10-15 percent.

Sunny Deol and Tabu starrer much delayed project ‘Khuda Kasam’ failed to leave any mark and vanished behind the veils of oblivion. With an average occupancy of 10-25 percent, it hardly bothered the cashiers.

‘Guzaarish’ that released last week, surprisingly, continued its miserable run while ‘Golmaal 3’ has gone past a mark of Rs 100 crore. Staggering result for this comic caper!

Bipasha Basu's crazy feelings for Pakistani Singer 'Atif Aslam': Bipasha Basu seems to be heating up for a guy’s voice and it’s not definitely John Abraham.  This won’t be the first time that the tabloids have linked Bipasha having hot for another man apart from beau John, but this time it’s not the tabloids’ words, this time around the dusky beauty said it herself.

Bipasha has recently tweeted on her Twitter account that she would love it if Atif Aslam sings all the songs just for her someday. Aishwarya Rai faces a barrier in her profession?: Bachchan bahu Aishwarya Rai may be one of the leading actresses of Bollywood but she has never quite been able to shed her inhibitions and become a real pro. This is the age where actors like Aamir Khan go to any extent to provide authenticity to their characters.

But Aishwarya’s coyness may have proved a hurdle to a free-flowing more exuberant acting career. Unlike Angelina Jolie, with whom she is often compared, Aishwarya is not comfortable about screen intimacy.

Aishwarya has never really been able to shed her reservations and in a 15 year career, she has only given one liplock (in Dhoom 2 with Hrithik Roshan). Besides she hasn’t indulged in much of a skin show.

While it’s understandable that her ethics and morals don’t permit her to go bold, in the current era of high-tech gadgets, even an Indian actress is showing no qualms about kissing their co-star (take for instance the likes of Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone or Priyanka Chopra).

However, in Aishwarya’s favour, one must say that she is married and is therefore edgy about doing explicit scenes. But it’s a puzzle why her moaning scene in ‘Guzaarish’  was scissored down at the last moment on her request? Of course, her hubby is liberal and intelligent enough to understand the demands of modern cinema. But then, it also highlights the Indian principles and morals that are deeply seeded inside Aishwarya.

Angelina and Brad’s children were spotted at the beach in the Seychelles in the care of nannies on Thanksgiving.

Later, even though the pair was seen only sparsely in films like 'De Dana Dan' and 'Blue', it was being stated in the industry circles that the hit couple would be doing many more movies together.

However, this didn't quite happen as Akshay and Katrina didn't sign any new movies thereafter. The only film which would now bring them back in front of audience is 'Tees Maar Khan' and that would be more than a year after 'De Dana Dan'.

Says Shirish Kunder, the film's co-producer, "We had done the calculations while signing on Katrina. To begin with we wanted a newcomer who had to be someone like Katrina. Then we thought why not Katrina herself? After all between 'De Dana Dan' and 'Tees Maar Khan', there was no film planned with the two together. A one year gap is substantial enough for audience to crave for more."

Today when the 'jodi' is being received with open arms all over again, the makers can't help but feel elated.

"Guess we just turned lucky here," smiles Farah Khan, "Audience is pretty much anticipating this 'jodi' to ignite the screen all over again and I am sure they won't go home disappointed."

“It was kind of a learning experience for me. I don't take the song being called item number as an offense. There is exposure in the song but it is more about attitude and I was specific about it...It had be one of the raunchiest songs I have ever shot,” Kat is quoted as saying by a news agency.

The movie has Katrina playing a struggling actress who gets a role in a B-grade movie that requires her to do raunchy item numbers.

“In the movie, Akshay plays the role of a conman and I play his love interest, a wannabe actress called Anya. She signs a B-grade film in which she is called Sheela,” Katrina added.

Katrina is all praise for director Farah Khan for making her look glamorous in the film which is set to release on December 24.
